The Wisconsin Black Voters for Biden Harris held a press conference and from all the pictures I could find, the turnout was less than exciting. How do I know? When the media only shows the podium with a few people behind it and the only interviews are with participants not with any of the nonexistent folks in the audience supporting Biden Harris.
The mayor, State Senator Johnson, and in her every two-year visits to Milwaukee, Gwen Moore even showed up.
So what does it take for the media to show up to a non-event? Seven people behind a podium, especially if those people are elected officials who keep feeding the lazy media that lives on supporting left-leaning organizations and their viewpoints.
Judging from the turnout, the Biden Harris Team has a lot of work to do as do the liberally funded "non-partisan" groups scrounging for voters. From my experience, black voters are tired of the promises from Democrats without any practical application of those faux promises every election cycle.

Diverse Common Council?
Milwaukee media has gotten the message that the Milwaukee Common Council is the "most diverse" in history. They are right if you take a physical look at the makeup of the council. But I question since when does skin color, sex or sexual orientation make a group of diverse in matters that really make a difference?
What about their political affiliation? How about where they stand on the political spectrum, liberal or conservative? You will never see that comparison unless the Republicans control the legislature. I had this same discussion with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel when they claimed a growing diversity. Needless to say the conversation went nowhere.
For the records, as far as I know, all the common council members are Democrats and all are liberals, with maybe Scott Spiker being the most common sense-filled member. He will actually look at issues and decide what is the way forward.
Maybe the common council needs to redraw their districts so that some of them are conservative-leaning, you know the whole fair maps things for the city. Not gonna happen, but it's a nice thought.

Former Milwaukee deputy director of the Milwaukee Election Commission was found guilty by a jury of three misdemeanor counts of election fraud and one felony count of misconduct in office. She was sentenced to 12 months probation (which includes 120 hours of community service) and a $3,000 fine by Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Kori Ashley. Her attorney Daniel Adams argued she was a whistleblower and not someone who violated the public trust and further damaged the integrity of the Milwaukee Election Commission. He is planning on appealing the case.
If the Judicial system is concerned about cleaning up the election process, as it should, it needs to be serious in the punishment it hands down for election/voting shenanigans. Judge Ashley got it wrong and sadly we will all forget about it when her election to the bench comes up in 2027.
A similar case will be coming up soon as Harry Wait, the president of HOT (Honest, Open and Transparent Government), will be in front of a judge on August 16 for two counts of unauthorized use of an individual's personal information and two counts of election fraud. The cases are similar and it will be interesting to see how Wait's case plays out and what if any penalty he will receive.
I do find it odd that someone who claims to want Honest, Open and Transparent Government would resort to breaking the law to accomplish that goal. The Anti-Vos idiocy is strong with this one.

Reckless Driving or Attempted Murder ?
Word on the street concerning the 4-year-old who was killed by a hit-and-run "reckless driver" is out of this world evil.
I've been told that the murderess driver, Donald Crayton, of the car, was the live-in boyfriend of the mother of the girl and her daughter. Domestic violence incident?
Sometime after the accident, Crayton parked the car used in the murder on the far northwest side of Milwaukee and his side chick picked him up and they were finally arrested by the Wauwatosa police. Crayton is being held on $500,000 bail, thanks Republicans for allowing larger bail and way to go to Hon. Katryna Childs-Rhodes a commissioner for the Milwaukee County Circuit Court. She takes this seriously.
Some of the news articles make the do-nothing mayor of Milwaukee, Chevy Johnson, a mainstay of the reporting. Sure he's upset, he's been telling people how his inept administration is making Milwaukee Great when in reality they are reactive in their response and not proactive, unless you consider adding more bike lanes and planting trees a way to stop the insanity that covers the city.

Right Wing Zealot Election Deniers Beware What You Ask
At the Wisconsin GOP Convention delegates passed a non-binding resolution that called for the impeachment of Elections Commission Administrator Meagan Wolfe. Previous attempts to do this have gone nowhere. The Wisconsin Election Commission did not have the four votes to reappoint Wolfe, so she can continue in her position until an administrator is appointed by the WEC. The Supreme Court ruled last year that Frederick Prehn could remain on the Natural Resources Board beyond the expiration of his term. What comes around goes around.
In Milwaukee, Mayor Chevy Johnson replaced Milwaukee Election Commission Executive Director Claire Woodall with Paulina Gutierrez. Other than the odd timing and lack of experience of Gutierrez it looks like a great choice by the puppet strings pulling of the Democratic Party and Mayor Johnson.
To solve the problem of appointees overstaying their welcome, the legislature should revisit the laws they have in place concerning government appointees. My suggestion is to set a time limit for the governing body, including the Governor, to appoint someone to an upcoming vacancy and for the State Senate to vote on the appointment in a timely fashion, like maybe a month. This can be a win/win/win for the state in that those whose job it is to complete commissions, and the legislature both do their jobs and the citizens of Wisconsin don't have to put up this consistent nonsense.
